Connection, Community and Kindness
One Year of Flower Fairies at Fenton Yard Flowers
July 2022 sees 12 months of the Flower Fairies and their weekly gifts of joy to the local community. Every Friday Jess from Fenton Yard Flowers makes up 3 mini posies, leaving them on benches in Bushy Park, GPs’ waiting rooms or along the local high streets for people to find.
“My friend was a recipient of your flower fairy gift today. We were having a rest on a bench after a stroll around Twickenham Green. She’s having a tough time with the big C right now and finding your bouquet was a sweet surprise. Thank you for making her smile today, what a lovely and generous idea”.
Jess has a passion to spread joy to the community and hopes to do this not just through her subscription service but also through these acts of kindness with the Flower Fairies.
“A beautiful find in Bushy, just what I needed”.
“Found one, and it made my day. Thank you Flower Fairies”.
As well as giving something back to the community, it is also a way for Jess to ensure she doesn’t have any wastage. When she makes her bouquets for customers every week, she keeps hold of the smaller flowers and stems that would normally be thrown away and makes them into mini posies, adding an extra flower if possible.
“My kids and I were at the bus stop and found one of these beautiful bouquets. Thank you”
“Such an unbelievable joy to find this beautiful bouquet on a bench today”.
It has been so rewarding to hear back from the people who find the bouquets; how it has made them smile, made a hard day bearable or an unexpected birthday treat. One of the best things about running a small floristry business is being able to connect with the customer from start to finish, including spreading joy on the doorstep! Spreading that joy is extended through these community flowers from the Flower Fairies - not just for the lucky finders, but the whole community gets behind them and looks forward to finding out where the Flower Fairies have been every Friday.
“Ahh I love this every time I see it. I would be jumping for joy if I found one”.
Connection, Community and Kindness are what makes this area so special and Jess counts herself very lucky to be part of it.
“Saw someone in Attic on Hampton Hill High Street who had found some on a bench and I knew exactly where they were from”.
“I’ve had a rough couple of weeks with medical stuff…they really made me feel 100 times better about everything”.
Jess provides varied and well-toned, textured bouquets to homes and businesses, delivering locally for free (Thursday - Saturday).

“Since we found one of your bouquets of flowers on 17th December, my daughter every time we are out, checks to see if she can find one again. Love the smell and how delicate they are made”.
